Cancer and Work — The Charter Toolkits
Gathered at the Benefits Canada Cancer Care Summit. The Charter is the most complete free Canadian resource we have found for the working side of a cancer diagnosis — for the person diagnosed, the people supporting them, and the employer trying to do the right thing.
- Plain language.
- Your plan wording.
- Clear next steps.
What is in it
Fourteen toolkits covering return to work, disclosure, accommodation and caregiving. A Learning Hub. A Pan-Canadian Legal Reference Guide. An Implementation Hub for employers building a policy. A general Resource Library.
It is free and open. We link to it rather than reproducing it, because the Charter maintains it and keeps it current.
The impact of a cancer diagnosis on workplace productivity and plan design. Treatment options and the pathways available to support plan members and caregivers. And the reality of the disability-claims side of the ledger, which is where most of the cost — and most of the avoidable distress — actually sits.
