HLVC Candy Jar Contest
BizCon Waterloo 2026 — Official rules
Sponsor. HL Value Consulting Inc., operating as Health Life Value Consulting ("HLVC"), 89 McGill St, Toronto, ON M5B 0B1. The contest is run by HLVC alone and is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by the BizCon event organizers.
Contest period. Entries are accepted on September 24, 2026, from the time the HLVC booth at BizCon Waterloo opens until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time that day.
Eligibility. Open to residents of Canada who are 18 or older. Employees and contractors of HLVC and the members of their households are not eligible.
How to enter. No purchase is necessary. New entries require joining the HLVC Member Network and consenting to member-update emails, along with your guess of the number of candies in the jar, first name and valid email address. Enter using the form at hlvalueconsulting.ca/member-network (via the QR code at the HLVC booth) or on the HLVC tablet at the booth. Any paper entry slip must include the same affirmative membership and email consent to be accepted. Benefits reviews and clinic partnership contact requests are optional and do not improve your chances. Nothing in this contest is connected to the purchase, renewal or terms of any insurance product. Entries already accepted under the rules in effect when entered remain eligible without retroactive consent.
Limit. One entry per person and per email address. Duplicate entries after the first are void.
Prize. One (1) prize of one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100), paid by e-transfer or gift card at HLVC's choice. The prize must be accepted as awarded. It cannot be transferred, and no substitution is made except by HLVC if necessary.
Selecting the winner. After the contest period ends, HLVC counts the candies in the jar. The eligible entrant whose guess is closest to the actual count, above or below, is the potential winner. If two or more eligible entries are equally close, the potential winner is chosen by random draw from among those tied entries. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and how close each guess is.
Skill-testing question. Before being declared the winner, the potential winner must correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
Notification. HLVC will contact the potential winner by email within five (5) business days after the event. If the potential winner does not respond within fourteen (14) days, does not answer the skill-testing question correctly or is found ineligible, HLVC may select the next closest eligible entry under these rules.
Personal information. HLVC uses entry information to run the contest and contact the winner. New entrants also agree to receive member-update emails; separate business and clinic contact requests remain optional. HLVC never sells your information, never shares it with your employer and never gives it to clinics. You can unsubscribe or ask HLVC to delete your information at any time by writing to info@hlvalueconsulting.ca. Withdrawing email consent does not invalidate an accepted entry.
Winner's name. HLVC will not publish the winner's name without their consent.
General. HLVC is not responsible for entries that are lost, incomplete or not recorded because of a technical fault. HLVC may cancel or modify the contest if it cannot be run as planned, subject to applicable law. The contest is governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada applicable in Ontario. HLVC's decisions on all matters relating to the contest are final.
